Request for Proposals: United Nations Multi-Country Study on Men and Violence in Asia and the Pacific
More news about the topic
The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) is seeking proposals for research and secondary analysis using the United Nations Multi-Country Study on Men and Violence in Asia and the Pacific quantitative data set.
The UN Multi-Country Study on Men and Violence (UNMCS) was led by four United Nations Agencies – UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women and UNV – through the joint programme Partners for Prevention (P4P) in 2013. The objective of the study was to generate knowledge on how masculinities relate to men’s perceptions and perpetration of gender-based violence, in order to prevent violence. Results of the study from 2013 can be found on the website of P4P. The P4P programme closed in March 2018. The national and pooled regional data sets are an asset to the field. P4P and SVRI are committed to ensuring that the data is used to build knowledge on ending violence against women and girls. To ensure this resource is fully utilised, the SVRI has agreed to take over the management of the data set. The SVRI welcomes applications from qualified researchers to access the data set for secondary analysis with the appropriate ethical considerations. Applications can be submitted by sending a completed Application Form to svri@mrc.ac.za by 31 August 2018.
