The dramatic rise of extreme right-wing extremism in Poland over the last few decades gives a new urgency to the issue of violent extremism. The article explores how the extreme right has evolved in the past 25 years and presents the reactions of the state administration and the civil society.
Between September 2014 and December 2017, the European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) led, with funding from the European Commission, the LIAISE “Local institutions against violent extremism” project for exchanging and strengthening the capacities of European local authorities for the implementation of prevention projects against violent radicalisation. The paper was written in the framework of the LIAISE 2 project in order to synthesise existing knowledge and make it operational for local authorities.
