Report: Organised Residential Burglary
The research report of the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony e.V. (KFN) concerning organized residential burglary is now available in English. The project is co-financed by resources from the Internal Security Fund of the European Union.
The report presents results of the first part of the study in which 25 expert interviews were led with police and public prosecutors in Germany and six further interviews with police in Albania, Croatia, Lithuania, Austria, Moldavia and Romania. The aim was to gain knowledge about offender profiles, and difficulties concerning legal prosecution, especially in international cooperation. The second part of the study comprises an analysis of criminal files that were reported to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) as cases of organized crime with regard to residential burglary.
