Safe cities worldwide - Metropolitan Security Conference in Berlin
More news about the topic
Paris, London, Madrid, Brussels, Berlin - terrorist attacks on people in Europe's metropolises have changed cities and pose new challenges to politics and society. Since then, the fear of new attacks has been a part of life in the big city. In many places, the public space of urban society in particular is associated with perceived insecurity.
Terror and radicalisation are hitting us from different directions. In particular, the relevance of a decisive action against terror from the legal point of view is becoming clear once again. In addition, "Islamist terror" remains a threat whose analysis and prevention is the focus of our conference. International exchange and joint strategies are needed to shape security and prevent extremism.
The major European cities face common challenges: How can metropolitan regions efficiently meet the challenges of radicalisation - without abandoning the fundamental values of diversity and freedom?
This question is at the heart of an international metropolis conference to which the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Berlin Senate Department of the Interior and Sport, as well as the Berlin Commission against Violence, cordially invite us. Efus is a partner of the conference and will be present with the PREPARE project.
The conference will take place on 26 and 27 November in Berlin.
Conference languages are German and English.
