COVID-19-Related Phone Scams and Phishing Attacks

Hackers and cyber scammers are taking advantage of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic by sending fraudulent email and WhatsApp messages that attempt to trick you into clicking on malicious links or opening attachments. Or they call directly and ask for donations.

If you are contacted by a person or organization that appears to be a staff member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) or the US Centers for Disease Controll and Prevention, verify their authenticity before responding.
