1. “Voices of Creatives”
   “Voices of Creatives” is a study providing empirical evidence on the impact of Covid-19 on the culture and creative industries (CCI) in six partner countries of German development cooperation. The community-sourced project has compiled and interpreted the most advanced data to date about the impact of Covid-19 specifically on the music, fashion and design sectors in Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Senegal and South Africa. 2. Reducing COVID-19 outbreaks in prisons through public health-centred policies
   People in the USA who are incarcerated have been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, experiencing an infection rate more than five times higher than the US general population. Prisons in the USA have also been epicentres of transmission to the community. Evidence-based, public health-centred policies are needed to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks in prisons and save lives. Given the disproportionate rate of incarceration among marginalised groups, such policies will also improve health equity. Source: The Lancet
3. The Effects of COVID-19 on the Trafficking in Human Beings in the Republic of Serbia
   The COVID-19 pandemic represents a new challenge that has not yet been sufficiently explored. There are thus limitations in controlling the effects this crisis has caused worldwide. The pandemic constitutes a public health emergency, so there is a need for it to be considered in the context of people trafficking. Although it is not possible to fully predict the pandemic’s effects on trafficking in human beings, previous experiences in other crisis situations could provide valuable insights into changes related to the forms of exploitation and the specifics of victims of this crime. The aim of this paper is to establish what effects the COVID-19 crisis has had on trafficking in human beings in the Republic of Serbia by analysing data collected by the Centre for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings. This paper will present relevant data from years before the pandemic and the year in which the pandemic occurred (2020). The primary aim is to determine what changes took place in the forms of exploitation, as well as in the gender and age of victims, to create adequate conditions for the trends in this area to be followed. 4. Subjective Perception of Safety During the COVID-19 Crisis: The Influence of Social Cohesion, Risk Group Affiliation and Incivilities (Paper in German)
   This paper analyses the effect of neighbourhood social cohesion on the perception of safety and pandemic-related anxiety about the future during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany. Data were gathered from 1,194 Hamburg citizens. Analyses show that social cohesion has a significant reducing effect on the perception of safety, which especially benefits those who belong to a high-risk group for severe COVID-19 infection. In contrast, the perceptions of incivilities and crime show only a limited effect on the perception of safety. Source: Criminology - The Online Journal
