Safety and prevention in cities - how can environmental design, urban planning and technical standards help?
The Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Czech Standardization Agency and the Secretariat of the European Committee for Standardization - Technical Committee 325 (CEN/TC 325) "Crime prevention through
building, facility and area design", invites to a unique international professional conference:
Urban environment - Security threat or opportunity for prevention?
The conference will take place on the occasion of the Presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the European Union. The aim is to raise awareness within the EU, at the level of institutions and representatives of cities and police forces, about the concepts of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design / Crime Prevention Through Urban Design & Planning, about their benefits in practice and the importance of standardization in this area.
The conference will be divided into 3 blocks: 1) General concepts and benefits; 2) CPTED and Technical Standardization in the cities; 3) CPTED and Technical Standardization in work of Police. A more detailed program and list of speakers are provided in the appendix.
The conference will take place as a full day event on 6 October 2022 in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, which is one of the most beautiful cities and also one of the most popular congress destination in the world, in the premises of the Prague Congress Center (5. května 1640/65, Prague 4) with a breath-taking view of the Prague skyline.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. The main language of the conference will be English. The conference will also be interpreted into Czech.
