Podcast: Women Navigating the City

In another inspiring episode of Urban Voices by the European Urban Knowledge Network (EUKN) Els Enhus, Professor Emeritus of Criminology specialising in research on the relationship between the city, space, place and crime, fear of crime and crime prevention, talks about women and their safety in cities.

The topic of the conversation is broadly the safety of cities and public spaces, and more specifically how women navigate urban areas and what makes them feel more or less safe. A number of recommendations for policymakers and city planners are provided in the second half of the podcast with a strong encouragement to include more women in decision-making and sharing their experiences to inform inclusive urban development.
