International Trends and Practices
The poster presents the main findings of the first International Report on Crime Prevention and Community Safety and the new International Compendium of Crime Prevention Practices to Inspire Action Across the World completed by the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime. It gives an overview of the main trends and emerging trends developed in crime prevention and community safety around the world, including the elaboration of knowledge-based policies, the changing role of institutional, local and community-based actors, as well as the creation of new services and careers related to prevention. These are illustrated by some inspiring practices in the field, regarding in particular youth at risk and youth gangs, police-community partnerships, indigenous peoples and community safety, which take into account the challenges of transferability.
