A contribution for primary prevention of the risk for violence and addiction.
PAPILIO is a pedagogical and psychological programme for children at the age 3 till 7 for primary prevention of behavioural problems and promotion of social-emotional competence. PAPILIO contributes to primary prevention against the risk of violence and addiction.
PAPILIO was developed on the basis of knowledge gained from Developmental Psychology from the beta institute and its scientists. A longitudinal study in the model region Augsburg (ALLEP) proved the evidence of feasibility and effectiveness of the programme.
The measures of the programme
PAPILIO works on multi levels: kindergarten teachers, parents and children
Kindergarten Teachers
The kindergarten teacher’s play the central key role; they will be qualified through certified trainers to implement PAPILIO into the kindergartens and to communicate its contents to parents. Root of the matter is the reflection of one’s own educational behaviour in interaction with the child and the group.
Children
• Toys-go on-holiday-day: Children play once a week without conventional toys and learn to engage themselves and other creatively.
• Paula and the trunk pixies: Children learn to deal with the four basic emotions such as sadness, angriness, fear and happiness
• Mine-yoursyours-our-game: Children learn playfully to lay down rules and to comply with social rules
Parents
Parents are considered as partner of education who will be informed and supported in their demanding task of helping children to advance.
The lecture aims to give an overview about the programme, the goals, measures, study results and implementation steps. Questions will be discussed afterwards.
